In horticulture terms, this traditionally refers to the ratio between blue and red light. Often expressed in terms such as 6:1, or 10:1 (i.e. red:blue)
The GROW3 system is capable of more than one color ratio for each light, as each light is customizable to your needs with many having the ability to adjust from 1:1 to 10:1 ratios and everything in between.
Most of the GROW3 products, would only require 1 light for each 4×8 shelf, however, this also depends on the mounting height.
LED Smart would be happy to assist with suggested design height for your specific application.
The suggested µmol depends on the desired PPF and DLI for plant growth stage, plus several other factors, such as, greenhouse structure and plant type. LED Smart would be happy to assist with suggested design for your specific application by designing a lighting layout plan unique to you.
There are a number of GROW3 color options available, of which are all adjustable. However, some are still better suited to different growing environments than others. To find the one that best fits your needs, please contact us, we will be happy to assist you to find the best solution. Please contact us at [email protected]

Used typically for commercial or residential lighting systems, the measure of a light’s color rendering index (CRI) is a measure of the ability of a light source to reveal the colors of various objects faithfully in comparison with an ideal light source (i.e. the sun). This value is NOT important to how a plant responds or photosynthesizes.
Where CRI is important is how well you can tell the true color of something, for example a leaf that might be chlorotic (lacking green). When you have a high CRI it is easier to detect color variations that might be indicating poor plant health. GROW3 with white LEDs has a typical CRI of 85 (out of 100). For comparison, HPS has a CRI of only 25.
The GROW3 system is a culmination of advanced power and control technology, high-quality top-tier LEDs, and high-grade housing materials. These critical features reduce the total cost of ownership and produce a product with long in-service life.
The system can adjust color, dim, and program schedules for the most efficient power usage and shortened growing cycles. Designed, produced and serviced from Canada, the local production gives you, the user, confidence that the customer service will be fast and reliable. All this means that your overall ownership cost is reduced over the product’s life.
LED Smart’s engineers considered other horticulture lighting systems when designing this product line and applied our decades of experience to a new and innovative grow light system. As a result, GROW3 fills in a unique gap that was missing in the grow light industry.
Utilizing the features that our clients in the transportation and military industries have come to rely on for high-quality, long-lasting, durable LED lighting systems. Within the GROW3 product line, the design features such as the military-grade aluminum body, the high impact resistant ultra-clear lens, and the use of top-tier LEDs within the system are some of the unique features.
Compared to other LED grow lights on the market, the GROW3 can control each part of the spectrum of the light available in each type, allowing the user to generate their own color ratios. In addition, the ability to dim the GROW3 system without losing the high PPE is also a unique advantage; the user can set the color AND the light intensity and still achieve their required PPFD and DLI.
The ability to control the GROW3 fixtures through various control methods so that each user can customize their set-up without complication means that the user can add to existing building controls too. In addition, the inclusion of the SmarTune technology in each fixture allows the user to set up the system in a quick and precise manner.
LED Smart also offers the control systems and APP at no charge to the users.
We are always interested in new distributors. First, request a credit application from the sales department. After the receipt of your completed credit application, the credit department will review the information supplied. This process takes between 2-4 weeks after receipt of complete info.
· Note: We do not offer exclusive territories
· An application package will be sent to each requestor by the sales department when the credit application is returned from the requestor
LED Smart has some demo units available. These are temporarily loaned so that you can be assured of the versatility of the GROW3. These are typically loaned out on a consignment basis for up to 120 days, or shorter if that suits your growing cycle.

The beta GROW3 Android app is available in the Google Play store. You can search for “GROW3” or LED Smart. Also, you can use the direct link to access the Google Play store:
A Bluetooth® mesh network is self generating; you do not need to do anything to create a ‘mesh’ other than turning on the light fixture. Each node within the mesh can connect up to 800 nodes total.
The SmarTune controls come with each GROW3 fixture. These controls allow you to program the color ratios, schedules, zones, and other features.
You may be able to order your GROW3 products without the SmarTune controls. However, these cannot be added to the system at a later date if you change your mind
There is a feature in the current Android version SmarTune™ APP to put the lamps into different locations, groups and zones. Inside this feature, a user can visually view the icon representation of each light.
After creating the locations, groups and zones, the user can operate a group of lights the same as a single light.
PAR: The type of light that a plant can ‘see’ is far greater. How grow lights efficacy and light output is measured is different from traditional light systems. Plant spectrum is often referred to as PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation). The type of light that drives the majority of photosynthesis. The visible light from 400-700nm.
PPF: The method of measurement for grow lights is different than regular lights. This number is expressed as PPF (Photosynthetic Photon Flux) or the measurement of the total photons of PAR that is emitted from the light fixture. This is expressed as µmol/s (micromoles per second). This number is the key to measure the overall quality of a grow light. This number helps to compare the amount of photons for photosynthesis of one grow light to another.
PPFD: Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density – how many photon densities are delivered. Typically measured in µmol per square meter, per second.
PPE: PPE (Photosynthetic Photon Efficacy). The measurement of the efficiency of the fixture to convert electrical energy (watts) into light (PPF). This measurement is calculated by the µmol/s divided by the input power (watts). One watt equals one joule per second (J/s). The measurement is expressed as µmol/J That all sounds complicated. However, this is an effective method to compare one type of grow light to another. However, it should not be the sole factor of consideration.
DLI: Daily Light Integral is the measurement of the PPFD delivered to an area of 1-meter squared (1M2) over a 24-hour period. Measured within the standard PAR (400-700nm) range only.
The GROW3 products come with a variety of options. GROW3 products are available from power sizes 40W to 320W. Within each size, there is a light color solution for your application. All products operate with input power from 100-277VAC; for special voltages, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our sales team for assistance.
The connector to the light fixture is a branded waterproof horticulture connector.
Unlike traditional lights, the watts and light output are not the measurements that are solely used to consider the best illumination for the plants. While an average watt per square meter may be able to be calculated, the best method is PPFD, or µmol/m2/second, and DLI (mol/ m2/day).
Each plant type requires a different level and kind of light at each growth stage. Too much light and you could ‘burn’ your plant, and too low, the plant will not grow to optimal performance.
Each lighting plan is unique to the specific location. Your customized lighting plan to correctly calculate the number of fixtures, suggested mounting height unique to your environment.

Please consult the installation manual that is included with your product.
Power savings is based on the number of hours of usage and the light wattage, or power consumption. On average the initial installation from HPS to LED easily saves 40%. Utilizing the control features of the GROW3 system, such as dimming, you could save an additional 20% or even more.
Example, if you are currently using a 1000W HPS light system, installation of the Grow RE 320W system could initially save you 65%
The GROW3 light is rated IP66 for water and dust ingress, meaning that there should be no water or dust inside your light. However, we understand that cleaning the outside of the fixtures may be desired from time to time.
It is best to consult your instruction and care portion of the manual. Never use abrasive or acidic cleaning solutions or materials on any part of the light fixture. Soft and gentle cleaning so as not to scratch the lens or the body. As it is IP66 rated, with the power OFF, the fixtures could be cleaned with a gentle spray of water. Allow to completely dry before operating.
The GROW3 system is designed to operate with various input voltages. These include 120VAC, 208VAC, 240VAC, 277VAC, and 347VAC upon special order.
If you are looking for any other voltage type, please contact [email protected]
