GROW3™

Introduction:

Growing plants in containers can be challenging, particularly when it comes to providing sufficient light for optimal growth. Traditional light sources, such as High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) and fluorescent bulbs, are not always practical due to their high energy consumption and heat output. However, LED tube lights offer an energy-efficient and effective solution for container gardening.

A recent case study demonstrated the effectiveness of LED tube lights for growing plants in containers. The study involved using LED tube lights in a shipping container converted into a hydroponic garden. The LED tube lights were placed vertically along the walls of the container, providing uniform light distribution throughout the growing area.

The LED tube lights used in the study had a full spectrum of light, which provided the necessary light wavelengths for photosynthesis. The lights were also energy-efficient and produced minimal heat, which reduced the need for additional cooling and ventilation.

The study found that the LED tube lights provided the necessary light for plant growth, resulting in healthy and vigorous plants. The use of LED tube lights also resulted in a 40% reduction in energy consumption compared to traditional lighting sources.

The LED tube lights were also easy to install and maintain. They had a long lifespan, which reduced the need for frequent replacements and maintenance.

Overall, the use of LED tube lights in container gardening is a promising solution for growers who want to provide the necessary light for plant growth while minimizing energy consumption and heat output. The technology is continually evolving, and we can expect to see even more efficient and effective LED grow lights in the future.

Background:

Suremak Industries is a 100% Canadian owned and operated bottle manufacturer located in the interior of Southern BC. Suremak has recently embarked on a new project to grow crops inside shipping containers. To achieve this goal, Suremak has purchased both Tube LED lights and GroV LED lights from LED Smart to compare the result.

Tube LED lights are linear LED fixtures that provide bright and uniform lighting, making them ideal for commercial and industrial applications. The Tube LED lights purchased by Suremak have a color temperature of 5000K, which is similar to natural daylight. These lights are designed to provide high levels of brightness while consuming minimal energy, making them a cost-effective lighting solution.

Grov LED lights, on the other hand, are designed specifically for horticultural applications. These lights emit a spectrum of light that is ideal for plant growth, allowing crops to thrive indoors without natural sunlight. The Grov LED lights purchased by Suremak have a mix of red and blue wavelengths that are optimized for the growth of various crops.

Suremak’s seacan growing project involves converting shipping containers into indoor farms, complete with climate control systems and LED lighting. The project aims to provide a sustainable and efficient way to grow crops in urban areas, reducing the need for traditional farmland and minimizing the carbon footprint of the agriculture industry.

LED Lighting:

By using Tube LED lights and Grov LED lights in their seacan growing project, Suremak Industries can ensure that their crops receive optimal lighting conditions for growth and productivity. These LED lights consume minimal energy, making them a cost-effective and environmentally friendly solution for indoor farming. The project has the potential to revolutionize the way food is produced, distributed, and consumed, providing a sustainable and efficient solution for urban agriculture.
